Generic Pamelor (Nortriptyline) 25Mg

Product Information:

Nortriptyline is an antidepressant drug. It is used to cure signs and symptoms of depression. This medicine works by interrupting chemicals that are unbalanced in the brain in persons suffering from depression. This drug can also be used for other medical purposes not listed here.

Dosage:

Adults can take up to 150mg of Nortriptyline a day. This means you take 25mg orally at least three or four times a day. The normal Geriatric dose for depression is 30-50 mg on a daily basis. Your physician may reduce the dose if you develop some minor side effects. If  patients develop adverse side effects the drug should be discontinued immediately.

Usage:

Nortriptyline is not suitable for all persons. Individuals who suffer from heart attacks should avoid using Nortriptyline. The same applies to those who are allergic to certain medicines. Children should never be introduced to this drug in whatever circumstances.

Side Effects:

When using Nortriptyline, individuals may experience certain side effects such as; panic attacks, difficulty sleeping, anxiety, behavior changes, feeling hostile, agitated, restless, hyperactive, aggressive and to some extent even contemplating suicide.

Precautions:

Avoid taking Nortriptyline if:

In the past fourteen days, you have used methylene, selegiline, linezolid and phenelzine.

You experience heart attacks,

You are allergic to other antidepressants such as trimipramine, doxepin, amoxipine and protriptyline.

You are sensitive to seizure medications for example; rufinamide, carbamazepine and oxcarbazepine.

It is also prudent to inform your doctor if you have:

mental illness

a history of seizures, heart attack or a heart disease

bipolar complications

Diabetes

Kidney or liver disease

An infant or breast-feeding baby

A pregnancy or you intend to have one

The reason we insist in informing your doctor is because many young people have contemplated suicide after using this drug.  Therefore you should keep in tabs with your doctor to monitor your behavior when using Nortriptyline.
