Quetiapine is a drug that is used to treat bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. This medication belongs to the antipsychotics class of drugs. It works by altering the levels of natural substances found in the brain. These chemicals are known as neurotransmitters. Seroquel or Quetiapine can be used to cure other illness not stated here. Examples are: insomnia, depression, Alzheimer's disease and post-traumatic stress disorder, reducing hallucinations and calming your nervous system.
Dosage
Take Seroquel as directed by your doctor. Remember to read the Medication Guide properly before you begin using this medication. Seroquel is administered according to your response to treatment and medical condition. This medicine is taken by mouth with or without food. You can take it two or three times a day. Patients who have been diagnosed with bipolar are advised to take this medicine once a day before going to bed.

Side Effects
Taking Seroquel may impart certain side effects. These are: drowsiness, blurred vision, dry mouth, rapid weight gain, dizziness, headache, nausea, nightmares, less sex drive, nipple discharge, stuffy nose, slurred speech, joint pain, seizures, uneven heartbeats, constipation, indigestion, severe rash, fainting, easy brushing and swelling of the lips, tongue and face.

Before taking Quetiapine, tell your doctor if you:
