Generic Thorazine (Chlorpromazine) 50mg & 100mg

Chlorpromazine is used  to treat bipolar and mental disorders. This medicine belongs to the phenothiazine class of drugs. It works by reducing hallucinations this way you can think more clearly. Chlorpromazine also relieves anxiety by restoring some natural substances in the brain. This medication can also be used for other purposes such as relieving hiccups, treating tetanus and controlling nausea. 

 

Take this drug as directed by your doctor. Chlorpromazine is taken by mouth with or without food. Normally, this medicine is taken two to four  times a day. Take this medication frequently to get the most of it. Also, take the drug the same time each day to help you remember. The dosage is based on your age, medical condition and response to therapy. In children, this medication is administered based on their weight. Your doctor may administer small doses of Chlorpromazine and increase them gradually. 

 

Take Chlorpromazine until the dose is finished. If the drug is stopped suddenly, your condition may worsen. Some of the withdrawal symptoms include: nausea, vomiting, stomach upset and dizziness. Contact your doctor before you stop medication. If your condition worsens inform your doctor right away. 

 

Chlorpromazine has these side effects: dry mouth, nausea, weight gain, constipation, blurred vision, trouble sleeping, anxiety, muscle pain, shaking, restlessness, trouble swallowing, swelling of the feet, easy bleeding or brushing and skin rash on your nose and vision changes. Inform your doctor if you experience these adverse side effects: uncontrollable movements such as unusual leg or arm movements, missed periods, reduced sex drive, failure to produce sperm and puffed up breasts in male persons. 

 

Tell your doctor if you have any of these conditions before taking Chlorpromazine. These are:

• Allergies

• Low blood pressure

• Heart problems

• Kidney problems

• Severe asthma

• Breast cancer
