Rhinocort Nasal Spray is used to control and prevent allergies. These allergies can be itchy eyes, sneezing and running nose. Budesonide or Rhinocort spray belongs to the corticosteroids class of drugs. This drug works by managing inflammation in the nasal airways. This drug can also be used for other purposes not listed here. To be safe, ensure you seek advice if you are using this drug for other purposes. In some countries such as Canada, Rhinocort is used to heal growths that are found in the nose.
Dosage
Take this drug as prescribed by your doctor. This medication can only be used in the nose. Normally you can spray each nostril once or twice a day based on your medical condition. Blow your nose carefully before using the drug. Cover your eyes well to avoid getting this medication in your eyes. Shake the bottle well before use. Avoid using this medication for more than two weeks. Always read the Medication Guide carefully before you start using this drug. Inform your doctor if your condition is not improving.
Usage
Exercise caution when using Rhinocort. For beginners, ensure you remove the plastic casing. You can close one nostril by pushing it down with your finger. Slant your head forward and keep the bottle straight. Insert the Rhinocort spray into your nostrils and press it. After spraying, you can tilt your head backwards for some minutes. You can repeat the process according to your prescription. Restrain from blowing your nose for about twenty minutes to allow the medication to take full effect.
Side Effects
Some side effects brought about by using Rhinocort include: sneezing, coughing, nose bleeding and the development of sores in your nose. You may experience serious side effects such as rapid weight loss, headache, blurred vision and swelling of the ankles. If you do, do not hesitate to inform your doctor.
