Generic Serevent (Salmeterol)

Generic Serevent is an inhaler that is used to reduce lung problems such as asthma. It is covered in a green plastic that has a foil strip. The foil blister strip has white powder. This white powder works by reducing breathing complications in the airstream when the patient inhales Serevent through the mouth. This drug is administered depending on the patients' medical condition.

Also, ensure you clean your hands before and after using the drug. Serevent is taken orally with or without food. Do not increase the dosage unless your doctor says so. You can place this medication on your tongue and swallow it using saliva if you wish. Clean your hands after using the drug. Dispose the foil blister properly. Serevent has the following side effects: swelling of the lips, tongue and face, allergic reactions such as hives and skin rashes, trouble breathing, asthma problems, easy bruising or brushing, chest pain, uneven heartbeats, shaking, numbness, severe tingling, muscle weakness and  tremors.  Alert your doctor if you experience these side effects. 

 

Before using this medication, inform your doctor if:

• You have heart complications such as heart attacks

• You are allergic to Serevent 

• You have any other allergies

• You have high blood pressure

• You have liver disease

• You have diabetes

• You have thyroid problems

• You have uneven heartbeats

• You have QT prolongation

• You have seizures
