Generic Floxin (Ofloxacin) Ear Drops

The Floxin ear drops are used for the treatment of the infections occurring in outer ear and middle ear. The infections in middle and outer ear are usually caused by the bacteria. In order to get rid of the infection, it is important to kill those bacteria. The Generic Floxin ear drops work by killing the bacteria. The ear drops of the family of drugs known as quinolone antibiotics. Since Floxin kills are the bacteria of the ear, it can only be used to treat the bacterial infections. It does not work to treat any other type of infection. The medicine can be taken with other medicine on the advice of doctor.  

 

It is important to read the instructions carefully before you start using this medication. If you have any question related to the medicine, consult the doctor. Before you apply the eardrops, wash your hands with clean water. Put the drops the dropper and pour the drops in ear drop by drop. Do not touch the dropper with your hands. The dropper should be put straight above the ear and then the drops should be administered. The earlobe should be moved back and forth to ensure that the ear drops have reached the effected part. After each use, the dropper should be replaced. Reusing the container is not recommended. Continue using the Floxin for the number of days the doctor has prescribed. Report your doctor if you feel that the condition of the ear is not getting any better. 

 

1. The ear drops should not be in eyes or any other part of body.

2. The dropper should be cleaned and rinsed thoroughly each time you use it. It is also recommended to change the dropper each time you use it. 

3. If you see any ear discharge after the continuous use of the Floxin, consult your doctor immediately.

4. Remember that the unnecessary use of antibiotics can cause a serious harm. 

5. The surface or the opening of the dropper should not be touched with naked hands. if you will touch the surface of the dropper with your hands, there is a possibility that it will get contaminated and your ear will be subjected to several other types of infections. 

6. The medicine should not be taken by those people who are allergic to Ofloxacin. 

7. It is not known whether the ear drops can be used in pregnancy. If you are pregnant report your doctor.

 

There can be a chance of allergy after the use of ear drops. In case of any appearance of the signs of allergy, you should consult your doctor. The side effects of the medicine are

1. Skin rashes 

2. Itching

3. Slow heart rate

4. Weak pulse

5. Difficult breathing

6. Swelling of face

7. Pain in throat

8. Ear drainage can be the worse side effect

9. Headache

10. Dizziness

11. Mild or severe ear pain
