Avana is a brand name for Tadalafil and it is used to treat erectile dysfunction. ED is a condition where a man cannot achieve or sustain an erection suitable for sexual activity. Avana comes in handy in this case as it helps increase the blood flow to the penile region by relaxing the blood vessels. This is critical in sexual stimulation and ensures that a man can sustain an erection. It is important to note that Avan will only work if the patient is sexually stimulated.

Dosage

one Tablet in a period of 24 hours

How To Use

Avana should be taken approximately 15 to 30 minutes before any sexual activity with or without food. However, food will delay the effects of the drug. When you use Avana, it is important to understand that the drug may be effective for 4 to 5 hours after swallowing. A patient should also take one tablet in a period of 24 hours as the drug lasts in the system for 24 hours. it is also worth noting that Avana does not induce an erection but rather helps in sustaining an erection. Avana can be taken in a 100 mg or 50 mg tablet as recommended by your doctor. it should not be used as a regular medication.

Side Effects

The most common side effects of using Avana include dizziness, lightheadedness, flushing, nasal congestion, headaches, dyspepsia. The less common side effects include sleepiness, dyspnoea, pain in the back joints, and abdomen, change in blood pressure and visual disturbance.

Precautions

Patients with the following conditions should not use Avana tablets 100mg:

-if they are allergic to avanafil or any ingredients in Avana

-if they are taking any nitrate medication, such as nitroglycerin for angina, as it may lead to a severe drop in blood pressure

-if they have liver or kidney disease

-if they have a condition where sexual intercourse is inadvisable due to cardiovascular or heart problems or you have had a heart attack or stroke in the last 6 months

-if they have abnormally high or low blood pressure

-if they have an eye disease like non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy (NAION).

-If they have conditions which may predispose to priapism (erections lasting 4 hours or more) such as anatomical deformation of the penis, sickle cell anaemia, multiple myeloma or leukaemia

-if they drink large amounts of alcohol or grapefruit juice
