Duprost (Generic Avodart) by Cipla contains generic substance Dutasteride, which is 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor used in men to treat BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) and male pattern hair loss.

Dosage

Usage and dosing of the medication should be recommended by your physician. Duprost (Generic Avodart) by Cipla is packed in capsules of 0.5 mg each. For BPH treatment, it is usually recommended to take 0.5 mg (one capsule) a day.

How To use Duprost

Use one capsule of Duprost (Generic Avodart) by Cipla every day, before or after the meal, with full glass of water. Never take double dose if you skipped the previous one.

Side effects of Duprost

As every other drug, Duprost (Generic Avodart) by Cipla may have side effects. Those include: allergic reactions to the drug, decreased sexual drive, problems with erection and ejaculation, breast enlargement and painful breasts.

Warnings

Since this drug can cause sexual problems, make sure you don’t stop using it. Men should use condom during intercourse since the drug can be present in the semen and can have serious side effects in women of childbearing age. If you notice any lump or breast changes you should report to your physician as soon as possible. Blood PSA antigen should be assessed regularly during the treatment with Duprost (Generic Avodart) by Cipla because of the possibility to develop prostatic cancer.

Taking Duprost (Generic Avodart) by Cipla during Pregnancy

Duprost by Cipla is only to be used in men. Women should not handle capsules of Duprost (Generic Avodart) by Cipla, since it may resorb through the skin.
