Rulide is used to treat virus or bacterial infections. This medication belongs to the macrolide class of drugs which is usually used for bacterial infections. Rulide is not ideal for every person. It may cause harm to patients who have liver, kidney and heart conditions. Further, this drug may affect someone who has or is suffering from Long QT syndrome. If you take wrong prescriptions of Rulide, chances are you will end up dead.
Dosage
Take this medication exactly as directed by your doctor. Normally this dose is taken for a period of two weeks. When using Rulide, you are advised to take the medication for a long period to avoid re-infections. Do not take the dose in small or large amounts but instead, take Rulide as prescribed by your physician. If you overdose this medicine, you will experience adverse side effects such as vomiting, diarrhea and nausea. Consult your doctor before you change the drug.
Usage
Expectant women are cautioned from using medication. It may cause reasonable harm to an infant or even cause birth abnormalities. The drug might be passed from milk directly into the child's digestive system.
Side Effects
Rulide has the following side effects. This includes: hives, chest pain, swelling of the tongue, lips and face, diarrhea, itching, uneven heartbeats, dark urine, jaundice, fever and severe rash. The medication also has serious side effects such as anxiety, dizziness, headache, vaginal discharge, nausea, odor in the mouth and tooth discoloration.
Precautions
Before taking Rulide, tell your doctor if:
• You are using new medications
• You are using HIV/AIDS medication
• You have seizures
• You are using immunosuppressant medicines
• You have low blood pressure
Avoid taking alcohol when using Rulide. This is owing to the fact that the drug might react with Rulide increasing the risk of side effects.
