Terramycin is a type of medication that is used to treat bacterial infections. This is an antibiotic that eliminates bacteria from the body. Some of the bacterial infections that this drug treats include: gonorrhea, Chlamydia and acne. This medicine can also be used to treat some health problems not listed here.
Dosage
Take this medication as prescribed by your doctor. Tetracycline is taken one or two hours before meals. Take it with a glass full of water. Do not take Tetracycline in small or large quantities than what is prescribed. If you do, this may increase the risk of side effects and your condition may worsen. Follow all the directions on your Medication Guide when using this medication. Avoid dairy products as they reduce the absorption of Tetracycline into the body. If you are using the oral suspension, use a measuring spoon to obtain the correct dose. If you lack one, it is advisable to request for the same from your pharmacist.
Usage
When using Tetracycline, avoid sharing the medication with other persons suffering from the same condition. Take the whole dose even when you feel okay. Remember this drug is used to treat bacterial infections, therefore limit your usage to diseases that are of the same nature. Inform your doctor in advance if you are about to undergo surgery any time soon. Store this medicine in a cool, dry place away from heat, light and moisture. Also keep the drug away from children. Do not use expired medicine as it may cause damage to your kidneys.
Side Effects
Call your doctor immediately if you have these symptoms: fever, chills, skin rash, severe headache, loss of appetite, jaundice, easy bleeding, blurred vision, dizziness, fast heartbeats, nausea, vaginal discharge and swelling in your genital area.
Precautions
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if:

• You are allergic to tetracycline
• You are expectant
• You are eight years and below
