Generic Lamisil (Terbinafine) Tablets & Cream

Terbinafine hydrochloride also known as Lamisil is an antifungal drug that is essential to every health system.  The generic pill is composed of white crystalline powder and is classified under antifungal drugs. It is useful in treating fungal infections by stopping the increase of fungus on the body. Terbinafine prevents the synthesis of ergosterol through enzyme inhibition thus the cell membrane is transformed. This fact makes it similar to allylamines. With a lower powder or cream percentage, Terbinafine is perfectly helpful for skin infections including athlete’s foot, jock itch and many other ringworm types. When compared to other antifungal drugs, Terbinafine cream takes a shorter time to work.  

 

250 mg tablets are given to treat fungal nail disease that is located in the inner part of the nail where practical treatments cannot infiltrate well. The cream is applied on the infected body [art twice everyday for a whole week.

 

Your doctor may prescribe how to take or apply the medication which in most cases is once a day. There is no harm in taking the drug with or without food but in order to recover completely, patients should finish their dose. The drug is frequently used for long periods of time which is more than two months.

Avoid using cream terbinafine if you are breastfeeding as it can affect the baby when it is ingested.
