Generic Mentax Cream (Butenafine HCl)

Mentax is an antifungal medication prescribed in treating a range of fungal diseases including ringworm, tinea versicolor and athlete’s foot.

 

Mentax should be used as directed by a physician. Dosage may vary from patient to patient depending on the infection being treated per case. For patients with tinea versicolor, the cream should be applied once daily for 2 weeks on the affected area. The cream should only be used eternally.

 

Mentax is used to treat fungal skin diseases or infections. The cream is usually gently massaged on the infected part of the skin after cleaning the part once or twice in a day as per the prescription of a specialist. It is highly recommended to use the cream regularly and complete the prescribed dosage so as to enjoy maximum benefits of Mentax.

 

Although most people that use Mentax do not suffer its side effects, the cream is known to have several side effects. It is highly recommended that in the event that you experience any side effect as a result of using the drug, you should consult your doctor. Side effects of Mentax include;

• Allergic reactions. Users of Mentax are advised to seek a specialist in case they notice swelling of the face, the tongue or the throat; difficulty in breathing or even severe dizziness as this may be signs of allergic reactions.

• Burning sensation or itching may occur on the skin where Mentax has been applied.

• The affected skin may redden

 

 

Washing hands after applying the cream on the affected area is required this ensures that the eyes, nose and mouth do not come into contact with the cream. Mentax should only be used externally. 

Mentax is not recommended for use of patients under the age of 12 years.  This cream should only be prescribed cautiously to nursing mothers and pregnant women.
