Mefenamic is a drug that is used to treat pain. It has always been used termed as a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. You can use this medicine to reduce pain and prevent excessive loss of blood as well. For instance, the drug is very effective in curbing blood loss from menstrual periods. This medication can also be used to cure gout attacks.
Dosage:
Take the medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Take Mefenamic four times a day. Always accompany this with a full glass of water. This dosage is administered based on your response to cure and medical condition. You are not allowed to take this drug for more than seven days at once. Either way, do not increase the dose unless your physician says so. After taking or swallowing Mefenamic, avoid lying down for at least twenty minutes. This drug is very effective for stomach cramps if taken in low quantities in the shortest time possible. If you are using this drug to treat menstrual periods, it is advisable to use it in the first two to three days.

Patients can take this medication with food or in some cases milk. When using Mefenamic acid, avoid using antacids unless your doctor allows for the same. Side Effects:
Some of the most common side effects of using Mefenamic acid are: diarrhea, headache, drowsiness, nausea, stomach upset, dizziness and heartburns. You might also experience serious side effects such as rapid heartbeats, severe headache, fainting, swelling of feet and hands and blurred vision. If you undergo such side effects, do not hesitate to inform your doctor or pharmacist. The drug might increase your blood pressure as well. Therefore exercise care when using it.

Before taking Mefenamic acid, ensure you tell your doctor if:
