Generic Zyban (Bupropion)

Bupropion is a type of medication that is used to treat depression. You can use this drug to improve your mood and feelings. Bupropion helps restore neurotransmitters in the brain. Neurotransmitters are some natural chemicals in the brain. This drug is very effective among smokers. It reduces cravings hence you can quit smoking easily. Bupropion is also efficient when treating anxiety, bipolar disorder and ADHD ( attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).  What's more is that you can use Zyban (Bupropion) for other purposes not listed here. 

 

Take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.  Read the Patient Leaflet and Medication Guide carefully before you start taking this medication. Zyban is taken by mouth with or without food. Take this medicine three times a day. Your doctor may direct that you take the medication with food if you experience stomach pain. Take this medicine at least six hours apart to reduce chances of having convulsions. The maximum dose a day is 450 milligrams and 150 milligrams in a single dose. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. 

 

Use Zyban frequently to get the most benefit from it. Keep in mind to take it the same time every day. Your doctor may increase the dose gradually if he deems it fit. It may take up to five weeks or more to enjoy the full benefit of this medicine. 

 

Zyban has the following side effects: sweating, vomiting, headache, dry mouth, sore throat, diarrhea and dizziness. Call your doctor at once if you notice these side effects: unexplained weight loss, uneven heartbeat, memory loss and anxiety. 

 

Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if:

• You having eating disorders such as Bulimia, anorexia nervosa

• You suffer from diabetes

• You have seizures

• You suffer from Glaucoma

• You are pregnant
