Tobrex eye drops are used to treat eye infections. This medicine works by slowing down the growth of bacteria in the eye.
Dosage
Use this eye drops as prescribed by your doctor. The Medication Guide has instructions on how to use this drug. Check the expiry date to avoid using expired medicine. Before using these eye drops, remove contact lenses to avoid contamination. It is also prudent to avoid wearing contact lenses when using Tobrex eye drops.
Usage
Wash your hands before using Tobrex eye drops. Tilt your head back, look up and pull your lower eyelid to make a pouch. Drop the eye drops into the pouch. Look down and apply little pressure on the inside corner of the eye to avoid draining the medicine. If there is excess medicine, wipe it using a clean tissue or piece of cloth. Remember to wash your hands after using this medication. Avoid touching the tip of the dropper to avoid getting infections. Do not stop taking the medication even when you feel better. If you feel the urge to do so, contact your doctor for advice. Use Tobrex the same time each day to get the most of it. Do not skip any doses, if you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can remember. Store the medicine at room temperature away from heat, moisture and light. Also, keep Tobrex drops away from children. Finally, do not store this medicine in the bathroom.
Side Effects
The possible side effects of Tobrex drops include: severe allergic reactions such as hives, rash, problems breathing, swelling of the mouth, lips, face or tongue, redness and itching, a burning sensation in the eye, and eyelid swelling. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience these symptoms.
Precautions
Before using this medication, tell your doctor if:

• You are pregnant, breast-feeding or intend to get pregnant
• You have any allergies
