Product information
This drug is significant to the human body in that it prevents HIV from reproducing and making the body to become weak.

Dosage
Didanosine is administered to patients in its recommended form which include 125 Mg, 200Mg, 250Mg and 400Mg. This medication may be taken orally as capsules or in powder form with or without food once daily. Elderly persons are recommended to take a lower dosage of the drug.

Usage
Unlike other drugs that are restricted for adult use only, Videx can also be given to children who are of 2 weeks old. So far, there have been no reported cases of the drug causing effects if you have taken it with or without meals. Specialists recommend exercise and a specific diet to accompany the use of Videx EC. Expectant mothers should be extra careful by ensuring that all the tablets prescribed are consumed to prevent passing on the virus tot the unborn child.

Side effects
Some of the most common outcomes of taking the drug include, headaches, low levels of concentration, diarrhea, annoying nausea, depression, constipation, melancholy, restlessness among others.

Precautions
If you fail to take a dose, do not take double dosage. Instead, consume it as soon as you can.
There is no harm in taking the drug with or without food but in order to recover completely, patients should finish their dose.  
Women who are infected by HIV should not breastfeed their children as this act can lead to transmitting the virus to the child.
Consult a doctor on whether you can increase the dosage from the standard amount initially prescribed. 
Once you notice that the side effects have stayed longer than 5 hours, it is important that you visit a hospital and get checked. 
Do not mix Didanosine together with other drugs as this can cause complications especially in pregnant women. This is dangerous as it can lead to death of the mother and child.
