Generic Zelnorm (Tegaserod)

Zelnorm is a type of medication that is used to treat irritable Bowel Syndrome (ISB) in women. This drug hastens the movement of stools through bowels. This medication is perfect for women aged 55 years and below who experience constipation. It is important to note that Zelnorm is not suitable for use in patients who experience diarrhea. This drug is also used for other purposes not listed here. However, ensure you consult your doctor for more information. 

 

Take Zelnorm exactly as directed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. However it is wise to take this medication on an empty stomach. Take this medicine with a glass full of water. Always follow your doctor's instructions when taking Zelnorm. Normally, this medicine is taken twice a day. 

 

Do not increase the dose more than prescribed. Read the Prescription label before you start using Zelnorm. It may take up to two weeks to get the full benefits of the drug. Inform your doctor if the symptoms do not improve after six weeks of treatment. Do not stop taking this medicine without the approval of your doctor. If you do, you are likely to experience withdrawal symptoms in one or two weeks. Take this drug regularly to get the most of it. Remember also to store Zelnorm at room temperature away from heat and moisture. 

 

Seek urgent medical help if you notice these symptoms: diarrhea, hives, trouble breathing, blood in your stools, headache, back pain, nausea and dizziness. Serious side effects of this drug are: stomach pain, persistent diarrhea and vomiting.

• High blood Pressure

• Hypertension

• Heart problems

• Chest pain

• Depression

• Obesity

• Bipolar disorders such as suicidal thoughts
